Florovit fertiliser for blueberries

Florovit fertiliser for blueberries

Compound, mineral soil fertiliser for top dressing of blueberries during the first year after planting and during the following years of cultivation. An important advantage of Florovit for blueberries lies in its ability to acidify the soil, which clearly stimulates both growth and development of plants requiring a site with a low pH of the substrate. It is also characterised by lack of nitrates. Blueberries are planted in autumn on a substrate with pH 3.8 - 4.8. Plants cultivated on a substrate with a pH level that is too high are characterised by small growth and premature yellowing and falling of leaves. The fertiliser prevents chlorosis of leaves during the period of plant vegetation. What is more, the fertiliser also contains nutrients poorly moving in soil, which protects them against leaching into groundwater.

Method of application:

Blueberries. Top dressing begins in spring, when the plants begin to grow, which usually happens in mid-April. The second and third fertilisation should be each time performed after four weeks. It is recommended to finish fertilisation by the 15th of June. After sprinkling the fertiliser around the plant, mix it delicately with soil. It is also recommended to water the plants. Doses: the first years after planting – three times 20 g/m2, all in all 60 g/year; following years of the cultivation – three times 30-35 g/m2, all in all about 100 g/year.

Rhododendrons
. Just like in case of fertilising blueberries, it is applied prior to vegetation, when planting the rhododendron. Apply 25-50 g of the fertiliser per 1 plant (mixing it with 25-50 l of soil from the hole), whereas during the following years the fertiliser is sprinkled under the crown during early spring: in the first year apply about 20 g in March and about 20 g in April; in the second year apply about 25 g in March and about 25 g in April; whereas during the following years apply about 30 g in March and about 30 g in April.

Azaleas and heathers
. Before vegetation we mix the fertiliser with soil in which the plant is to be placed, about 10 g of fertiliser per 10 litres of soil. During the following years, in early spring (April) sprinkle about 10 g of the fertiliser on the surface under the crown and water thoroughly. In case of bigger plants (3-4 years and older) fertilisation is repeated after 2-3 months and the same amount of the fertiliser is applied. In case of container cultivation, do not exceed the dose of 1g of the fertiliser per one litre of the substrate.

Ferns and conifers
. These plants can be fertilised with Florovit for blueberries both before in the pre-plant and top dressing period, in case when the soil is not acidic enough – pH exceeding 6. Prior to vegetation it is recommended to apply a single 10 g dose of the fertiliser per 1 plant and mix it with 10-20 litres of soil. In the following years a single dose of 10 g of the fertiliser is applied under the crown in early spring. As far as conifers are concerned, the dose for top dressing depends on the age of the plant: the dose is increased to 20 g, when the plant reaches the height of 0,5 m; up to 40 g when the plant reaches the height of 1m, and up to 60 g when the plant reaches the height of 2 m. One table spoon contains about 10 g of the fertiliser.
